Those who win the role at the Manchester attraction will join current Master Model Builder Alex Bidolak, who has been at Manchester for over 8 years now. When the same role was advertised for the newly opened LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Birmingham, over 7 thousand applied for the role. The role will be only the third in the UK and one of only 20 or so across the world. “We are excited to see the work that Veronica will continue to produce as a Master Builder.The LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Manchester is looking for its second Master Model Builder. “We were very impressed by the level of creativity and skill that was on display at Brick Factor and we faced a challenging decision to narrow the field down to just one winner,” said Chris Mines, general manager of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester.
Competitors were tasked with creating animals in the first round, instruments in the second, and a free build that would be reflective of themselves in the final heat of competition. A panel of judges, including LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester executives and a group of “Creativity Crew” kids, assessed each round of building throughout the day.

“I have loved building with Lego Bricks since I can remember,” said Watson. In her new position, Watson will be responsible for developing new features and exhibitions and building new models, as well as working with thousands of children and families expected to visit the attraction. Judges also assessed how well each candidate engaged with kids on-site. This one of a kind audition tested the competitors’ skill, creativity, and ability to work in pressure-filled situations. Beating out stiff competition from the New York metro region, Watson impressed judges and was awarded her dream job as a full-time salaried position as LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester’s first-ever female Master Model Builder.
